U.S. Senators Mike Crapo, Jim Risch, Ted Budd, and Katie Britt have introduced the Laken Riley Act, a bill aimed at addressing illegal alien crimes in the United States. The legislation, named after 22-year-old Laken Riley who was tragically murdered by an illegal alien, seeks to hold accountable those who commit theft, burglary, larceny, or shoplifting offenses.

Crapo expressed frustration, stating, “It is infuriating that Laken’s death was preventable if not for the lax immigration and crime policies of the Biden Administration.”

Risch highlighted the impact of open border policies, emphasizing, “The number of illegal migrants crossing our border should be zero... Laken Riley should be with us today.”

Budd emphasized the importance of states being able to protect their citizens, stating, “We simply cannot tolerate any more senseless tragedies like this one. What happened to Laken Riley should never happen to any American citizen.”

Britt echoed similar sentiments, attributing Laken Riley's murder to open border policies and advocating for the legislation to prevent such tragedies in the future.

The bill has gained bipartisan support, with the House of Representatives passing it in a vote of 251-70, including 37 Democrats. Additionally, a significant number of senators have joined in introducing the Laken Riley Act, aiming to address the issues surrounding criminal illegal aliens in the country.

The introduction of the Laken Riley Act signals a proactive step towards addressing the challenges posed by illegal alien crimes and ensuring the safety and security of American citizens.
